Building Chest Muscles - Exercises For Full Pec Development

Best Pectoral Exercises for Full Muscle Development

For men who lift weights, great looking pectoral muscles are an important part of the washboard stomach package that a woman sees when he takes off his shirt.  If these muscles are poorly, or unevenly developed, then he risks self-esteem issues, and may not be as attractive to women as if they were full, and balanced.  Follow these exercises and tips to make sure that your pectoral muscles are the best they can be, big, strong, and even!

To achieve full pectoral muscle development, you must use more than just a bench press.  While the bench press is important, you will have to use other techniques to take care of the entire pectoral muscle group (upper, lower, outer, and inner pectoral muscles).  The pectorals are the most difficult muscles to grow, and are difficult to develop.

You must be careful in your frequency of pectoral workouts, because the balance is easily lost.  If workouts are not done enough, with high intensity, these muscles will weaken and reduce in size.  On the other hand, if these exercises are performed too often, these muscles will strengthen and increase in size to the point where they are unnatural, and even unattractive.  What you are shooting for with pectoral workouts is balance and symmetry.

You should use an exercise technique known as narrow dip bench presses to build your inner pectoral muscles.  Using the barbell with your hands close together, take the barbell down almost to your chest and up again.  Sets and reps are somewhat disputed for the best results, so toy around with that to find what is best and most comfortable for you.

Decline presses, either barbell, dumb bell, or machine, will work best for your lower outer pectoral muscles.  Use a regular flat bench technique, except with slow reps with good form to ensure best result here.

When building your upper pectoral muscles, use an incline press the same way you do for the lower outer pectoral muscles, with the flat bench, slow reps with good form to ensure the best result.

While this balance of muscle size and strength will be more difficult in the chest area than other parts of the body, this muscle group’s tone will be the most important in improving the way your body looks.  Take time and realize that what you are doing is difficult, and do not get discouraged.  As long as you stick with it, your pecs will look great!
